My Place in the World

The shorelines I walk and the chestnut-backed chickadees I befriend are constantly inviting me back into a closeness I’ve had to rediscover. This land holds stories far older than my own—woven into the cedar, carried in the currents, spoken in languages that have always belonged here.

With gratitude and deep respect, I acknowledge that I live, work, and dream on the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. This land is not mine, but it has held me with generosity. I honour its original stewards and the ongoing presence of their cultures, kinships, and ways of knowing.

May my work here reflect the care this land teaches me—to listen, to tend, to hold space for stories beyond my own.
